ExtraFax Hybrid Cloud Solution - Your fax board in the cloud

As more and more companies have been shifting to a cloud infrastructure, Extracomm has recently partnered with etherFAX to offer a unique solution that extends existing fax technology to the cloud by eliminating the complexities and costs of provisioning PRI, T1, and/or analog connections. Utilizing an infrastructure as a service (laaS) model, etherFAX aggregates a vast array of virtual ports, making them available to customers for sending and receiving faxes with the benefit of maintaining their existing fax numbers.

With ExtraFax hybrid cloud solution via etherFAX, faxes will be maintained on an ExtraFax server on the customer premise, while all fax communications are securely delivered and received via the cloud. Faxes will never be stored off-site; they are simply processed and stored on your ExtraFax server. Using etherFAX with ExtraFax allows you to eliminate the need to provision and maintain costly telecommunications connections or purchase expensive fax boards, modems, related services and only pay for faxes sent and received through the etherFAX fax service.

How etherFAX Works

Security

Security is a clear differentiator when comparing other outsourced fax services to etherFAX. etherFAX incorporates a multi-level encryption/security system known as a “defense-in-depth” approach. It is a layering tactic, conceived by the National Security Agency (NSA), as a comprehensive approach to information and electronic security ensuring your data is encrypted at all times. In addition, all fax transactions are processed in a secure and encrypted database utilizing the same standards.

Outbound

A fax is submitted to ExtraFax, where the image is rendered, stored and then transmitted via secure HTTPS to the etherFAX data center for processing. Upon completion of the fax, a confirmation is sent back to your ExtraFax server, resulting in a notification to the sender of the fax. This process only requires an Internet connection.

Inbound

etherFAX issues you a dedicated fax number(s) and/or can use your existing number(s). Faxes are received at the etherFAX data center. Each fax is identified as your fax, based upon the number that was called, and is transmitted via HTTPS to your ExtraFax server. Once received, the fax is delivered to the appropriate person’s inbox.

ExtraFax hybrid cloud solution via etherFAX provides an option for customers to pay per page versus upfront fax board or FoIP software capital investment and ongoing maintenance on those items. All Telephony expenses are eliminated including: Long-Distance and Toll Charges.
