Extracomm Inc. is proud to announce ExtraTxt 3.2. This version is released as a software update and it is available at no charge to all the customers who purchased the ExtraTxt Maintenance plan.
What's New in ExtraTxt 3.2?
New features and enhancements
This version incorporates the following new features and enhancements:
1. Mobile Coupons
- Support Apple Passbook coupons, web coupons and text coupons.
- Support static and unique coupon codes.
- You can proactively deliver your coupons to your subscription lists.
- Coupons can be sent to people when they opt-in or text for a coupon.
- Instead of creating the Apple Passbook coupon from scratch, you can import a Passbook coupon and then customize the coupon.

New fixes and updates
- In User Settings, options are provided for user to select if reply messages will be forwarded to his email address or mobile number.
- In User Settings, user can select where to place his/her signature when composing SMS.
- After user uploaded a license file, a Refresh button is provided for user to refresh the status of the license.
- User can reply to messages received in their email client as the email sender address is changed to "<phone number>@<extratxt mail domain>" (previously it is extratxt@extratxt.com).
- For subscription list, user can view the trend of the total number of subscribers and the daily opt-in/opt-out statistics from the charts.
- For sweepstakes/text responses, user can view the trend of total entries and the daily entries statistics from the charts.
- In Sweepstakes, the term "Gained Entry" is renamed to "Bonus Entry".
- When composing SMS, user can input a local number and ExtraTxt will automatically convert the phone number to International format.
- For E-mail to SMS, user can input "<local number>@<extratxt mail domain>" and ExtraTxt will automatically convert the phone number to International format.
- In Compose SMS -> Job Status, first recipient is shown and a plus/minus icon is added to expand/collapse the recipients in a job.
- Focus is set to the first editable control after web page has been loaded.
- When ExtraTxt forwards a reply SMS to a user by email, message history is added to the email content.
- Fixed a bug that the recipient name is not shown in the sent log.
- Fixed a bug that when manually routing a "Received Message", no users or groups are displayed in the "Send to User" field.
- Fixed a bug that when using Firefox to compose SMS and error is returned, the mouse pointer remains busy.
For new installation:
1. Download and install ExtraTxt 3.0 VM
- Go to Extracomm download page to download ExtraTxt 3.0 VM.
- Follow the installation instructions mentioned in the ExtraTxt 3.2 Installation Guide.
2. Update to ExtraTxt 3.2
- Open your web browser to login ExtraTxt as "Administrator".
- Select "System Management"->"Update".
- Click "Check for update" button.
- Select the ExtraTxt 3.2 update and click "Update" button.
- Select "Confirm Update" to confirm the update.
- Click "Save" button to start the update.
- Wait until the update process is finished.
- Done.
3. Verify ExtraTxt Version
- You can verify the ExtraTxt version by viewing "System Management"->"System Configuration"->"General Information"->"ExtraTxt Information".
How to update from ExtraTxt 3.0:
1. Backup your ExtraTxt
- Before updating your ExtraTxt Server, at a minimum, please perform a full backup by running the backup from "System Management" -> "Backup" in ExtraTxt. It is however highly recommended that you backup the full ExtraTxt virtual machine image files in the event of problem and you need to revert the server to its previous state prior to the ExtraTxt server update. (Please shutdown the virtual machine before copying the virtual machine files.)
2. Update to ExtraTxt 3.2
- Open your web browser to login ExtraTxt as "Administrator".
- Select "System Management"->"Update".
- Click "Check for update" button.
- Select the ExtraTxt 3.2 update and click "Update" button.
- Select "Confirm Update" to confirm the update.
- Click "Save" button to start the update.
- Wait until the update process is finished.
- Done.
3. Verify ExtraTxt Version
- You can verify the ExtraTxt version by viewing "System Management"->"System Configuration"->"General Information"->"ExtraTxt Information".
4. If you are using Remote Port Server, you need to upgrade it to Remote Port Server 1.2.6.
- After updated your ExtraTxt server to 3.2, go to the machine that remote port server has been installed before.
- Uninstall the Remote Port Server from "Control Panel"->"Add or Remove Programs".
- Open web browser to login ExtraTxt as "Administrator".
- Go to "System Management"->"System Configuration".
- Click "Download" to download Remote Port Server 1.2.6.
- Run the setup program to re-install Remote Port Server 1.2.6.
