Extracomm Inc. is proud to announce the availability of ExtraFax for Microsoft Exchange 2.1. This new maintenance release contains many new features, essential enhancements and critical fixes as described below.

What's New in ExtraFax for Microsoft Exchange 2.1

New features and enhancements - This version contains the following useful new features and enhancements:

1. SharePoint Integration
- ExtraFax enables users to fax SharePoint Library documents.

2. Single Signon with Windows Authentication
- Single Signon to ExtraFax Web Application is supported if Windows Authentication is enabled in IIS.

3. Local User Creation and Import
- In case some fax users do not exist in the Active Directory, you can now create fax user records manually or import from CSV file for those users.

4. Fax Approval Workflow
- By defining fax approval workflow in the user preference records, outbound faxes will be sent to sender's approvers for review before transmission.

5. Import Inbound Routing Configuration
- You can now import inbound routing configuration records from a CSV file.

6. Route to File System
- Inbound Routing now supports a new option to route incoming faxes to a file directory.

7. Route to SharePoint
- Inbound Routing now supports a new option to route incoming faxes to SharePoint Library.

8. Purge Data based on Data Size
- SQL Server Express 2012 (and 2008 R2) has a maximum data size of 10GB.
By turning on this option, ExtraFax will automatically purge the oldest fax records to reclaim space in the database.

9. Database Archiving
- You can configure so that faxes will be archived to a file directory before they are purged from the database.
Also, a search function is provided so that you can search the archived faxes from the web browser.

10. Language Support
- Support Simplified Chinese in ExtraFax Management Console, ExtraFax Web Application and ExtraFax for Outlook Addin.


* New fixes and updates - ExtraFax for Microsoft Exchange 2.1 contains several fixes and updates:

1. Installation issue on Windows Server 2012 R2
- Fixed a problem of installing "any2fax" printer on Windows Server 2012 R2.

2. Initial System Setup issues
- Fixed an issue at the final stage when verifying active directory connectivity. The issue happens if the built-in administrator account is renamed.
- Fixed issues that may arise when the active directory domain name is different from the Exchange email domain name.

3. ExtraFax Management Console issue
- Fixed an issue of incorrect LDAP path for the configuration partition of active directory. ExtraFax Management Console failed to query configuration of ExtraFax Exchange Connector.

4. UNC naming printer issue
- Fixed an issue of printing faxes to UNC naming printers.

5. ExtraFax for Outlook addin issue
- Fixed an issue of incorrect LDAP path for the configuration partition of active directory. ExtraFax for Outlook failed to detect and connect to ExtraFax automatically.

6. Supports IE 11
- JavaScript errors occur when opening the dashboard in Internet Explorer 11. Now fixed.


For new installation, please:

1. Follow the installation instructions mentioned in ExtraFax Installation Guide.


How to upgrade from a previous version of ExtraFax for Exchange:

Important:
Please make sure you have a valid ExtraFax 2.1 license key before upgrading. License keys from any previous version are not compatible.
You can upgrade to this version if you have purchased our Maintenance Plus Plan or Standard Maintenance Plan for ExtraFax for Exchange 2.0.

Upgrade Procedure:

1. Backup your existing ExtraFax SQL Database and make note of any customizations.

2. Open ExtraFax Management Console. Stop all ExtraFax services.

3. In ExtraFax Management Console. Double-click License. Enter the new license key. Quit the ExtraFax Management Console.
(You can choose to update the license key after step 6. In that case, you can skip step 3.)

4. Run the new ExtraFax setup program to start installing the latest version of ExtraFax. You can perform in-place upgrades. There is no need to un-install the previous version of ExtraFax before installing ExtraFax for Exchange 2.1.

5. At the end of the installation, you will be asked to open the ExtraFax Management Console. Please open it. This will connect to the SQL Server and upgrade the database.

6. You will see a confirmation dialog box on success of the database upgrade. ExtraFax services will be started automatically.
