Configuration and Log databases required by SecurTrac

For ease of administration, SecurTrac^TM uses primarily two databases to operate. They are a SecurTrac Configuration Database (SCTCFG.NSF) and a SecurTrac Log Database (SCTLOG.NSF)

SecurTrac Configuration Database (SCTCFG.NSF)

The SecurTrac configuration database is created by the SecurTrac^TM server program the first time that it is loaded from the Lotus Domino server console. The database is created based on the SCTCFG.NTF template. It is a central repository where all SecurTrac server configuration information is stored. In a multiple server environment, the SecurTrac configuration database can be replicated amongst all servers running SecurTrac. Each server is not required to have its own dedicated SecurTrac configuration database. The following document types are stored within the SecurTrac configuration database:

• Mail Monitor configuration documents.

• Database Monitor configuration documents.
• Domino Directory Monitor configuration documents.
• NOTES.INI Monitor configuration documents.
• Intrusion Detection Monitor configuration documents.
• User Activity Monitor configuration documents.
• Scheduled Report configuration documents.

• Server Settings configuration documents.

SecurTrac Central Log Database (SCTLOG.NSF)

The SecurTrac Central Log Database is created by the SecurTrac^TM server program the first time it is loaded from the server console. The database is created based on the SCTLOG.NTF template. It is the default central repository where SecurTrac logs are stored on each SecurTrac server. The following document types are stored within the SecurTrac log database:

• Mail Monitor log documents.

• Database Monitor log documents.
• Domino Directory Monitor log documents.
• NOTES.INI Monitor log documents.
• Intrusion Detection Monitor log documents.
• User Activity Monitor log documents.
• Scheduled Report log documents.
